Petroleum Sector Companies Build 50 New Houses to Aswan Flood Victims

The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has delivered contracts of 50 new houses to families affected by the floods in Khor Awada village at Aswan .
The houses were built and furnished as part of the petroleum sector’s vision that was defined by the corporate social responsibility (CSR) high committee headed by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla.
Each house was provided with electric equipment and furniture in addition to the goat breeding project to ensure sustainable income to these families, according to a statement issued by the ministry.
El Molla announced in March 2022 the beginning of the first phase of the Kohr Awada reconstruction initiative which is carried out in cooperation with Aswan governorate and Orman Association. Phase 1 of reconstruction process costs EGP 8 million.
This initiative is contributed by companies of Petrojet, bp, Shell, Kuwait Energy, Enap Sipetrol, Petronas, Total, TransGlobe Energy, Chevron, Apache, Neptune Energy, Energean, Mubadala Petroleum, Apex Energy, Baker Hughes, Schlumberger, Cairn Energy and Wintershall Dea.
The CSR High Committee takes part in several initiatives including decent life, educational programs and women empowering programs.
