Kuwait Energy Egypt conducts ASK the Doctor Virtual Vaccination Awareness Session

The hesitation towards vaccination with the COVID-19 vaccine remains a problem worldwide. Vaccine hesitancy may be related to misinformation and worries about side effects which are often spread online, including through social media or word of mouth.
Therefore, Kuwait Energy Egypt invested in community projects as part of Corporate Social Responsibility in healthcare, designed and sponsored an informative live session, Ask the Doctor Virtual Vaccination Session, on Thursday 8th of July 2021 as a kind of its social initiatives to enhance the community knowledge of the COVID-19 vaccine and remove all the hesitation towards vaccination with the COVID-19 vaccine in collaboration with Health Specialists of Al-Salam International Hospital.
The objective of this awareness session is to increase the community general knowledge of the COVID-19 vaccine, improve the public acceptance and decrease vaccine hesitancy in confronting the disease.
The awareness session was presented by Dr. Hossam Hosny Masoud - Professor of Chest Diseases, Kasr Al-Aini faculty of Medicine, Chairman of the COVID-19 Scientific Committee at the Ministry of Health, and the Head of the Chest Diseases Department at As-Salam International Hospital & health professional.
The session covered several topics including description of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the most common side effects , infection prevention and control measures, how COVID-19 vaccination works, and precautions after vaccination.
The live streamed session “ASK THE DOCTOR” has provided guidance for the attendees during the Q&A conversation which challenged some of the misconceptions about the safety of the vaccine, alongside answering frequently asked questions.
It Is worth mentioning that this isn’t the first partnership between Kuwait Energy Egypt and As-Salam international through its contributions to help improve overall community health. Kuwait Energy Egypt has previously organized a comprehensive community breast cancer awareness session in collaboration with As-Salam International hospital that aimed to educate women about the importance of early detection of breast cancer and its possible treatments.
Kuwait Energy Egypt will always be committed to support public health needs amid the pandemic and help creating healthier and more sustainable communities.
