Published on : 2024-04-16
TechnipFMC has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil Guyana Limited for the Whiptail project in Guyana’s Stabroek Block. This contract entails the provision of subsea production systems, which includes 48 subsea trees, associated tooling, 12 manifolds, controls, and tie-in equipment.
Jonathan Landes, President of Subsea at TechnipFMC, stated in a press release on Monday, "ExxonMobil Guyana will utilize our Subsea 2.0® systems and manifolds, which help provide schedule certainty. We have already delivered more than 100 subsea trees for ExxonMobil Guyana – the location of one of the world’s fastest developing basins – and we look forward to deepening our relationship with them through Whiptail."
With nearly 140 Guyanese currently employed, TechnipFMC anticipates hiring and training additional local staff in support of this contract. This marks the latest collaboration between TechnipFMC and ExxonMobil Guyana, with the company being awarded subsea production system contracts since the initial contract award in 2017 for Liza Phase 1.
