Rashpetco and Burullus Gas Company Achieve 107% Gas Production Growth

Rashpetco and Burullus Gas Company, under the leadership of Chairman Mohamed Samir, conducted a comprehensive review of their business strategy, emphasizing core values and prioritizing health, safety, and environmental measures.

Notably, they celebrated surpassing 2.5 million working hours without any injuries or lost time incidents.

The companies showcased significant growth, with a notable 107% increase in average gas production, reaching 235 million cubic feet per day (mscf/d), alongside a daily output exceeding 4,000 barrels of oil condensates (bbl/d) over the past year.

This discussion took place within the framework of approving the annual plan and budget for Rashpetco and Burullus Companies.

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla commended the successful partnership between the petroleum sector, Shell, and Petronas, particularly highlighting achievements in launching operations in the tenth and eleventh phases.

El Molla stressed the importance of expediting development processes to meet production targets.

The Minister also lauded the dedication of Rashid and Burullus teams in managing well decline, enhancing safety protocols, improving production efficiency, and exploring new opportunities in their operational areas.

Dalia El Gabry, Vice President and Country Chair for Shell Egypt, expressed support for Rashpetco and Burullus' development plans, especially in safety enhancements and operational efficiency.

She reiterated Shell's commitment to bolstering Egypt's production capabilities and fostering a conducive business environment.

Similarly, Hany Esmat, CEO and Country Head of Petronas Egypt, commended the companies for their business achievements in 2023, emphasizing the importance of maintaining production rates while managing costs effectively. 

Esmat reaffirmed Petronas' commitment to collaborative efforts with the Ministry to boost production levels.
