$535mln Investment Plan Unveiled for Zohr Gas Field Development

Petroshrouk Chairman Khaled Mowafy has announced progress on the Zohr natural gas field development plan for the fiscal year 2023/24. This plan includes drilling and completing well Zohr-19, with a focus on meeting international technical and safety standards by the first half of the fiscal year. 

The announcement was made during the company’s general assembly, attended by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla via video conference. Minister El Molla thanked the workers for their efforts and achievements, particularly in safety, reflecting a commitment to safety strategies and standards. 

Mowafy stated that the new investment budget for FY 2024/25 aims to further develop operations in the Zohr field area, including enhancing facilities at the onshore production station and linking it with the compressors of the Gemayel station in Port Said to maximize asset utilization. 

The budget allocates approximately $535 million for field development activities and operations. Additionally, Mowafy emphasized the Zohr field project's positive impact on community development, highlighting various service projects in education, healthcare, and youth empowerment benefiting the surrounding community in Port Said Governorate.
