In statements on Tuesday, Molla said the Egyptian-French ties are extending and well established and have recently witnessed a notable progress.

Molla reviewed with the French ambassador the current cooperation with a number of French companies to accomplish new projects in the oil and gas sector.

He said talks covered current cooperation with the French companies topped by Total Energies which have already launched investments in Egypt in the fuel distribution and exploration for natural gas in the new areas and the Mediterranean Sea.

The Egyptian minister briefed the French diplomat on the Oil Ministry's efforts to upgrade the exploration mechanism to provide new opportunities to lure international companies to work in Egypt in the areas of the Western Desert, the Gulf of Suez and the Mediterranean Sea.


The French ambassador, for his part, voiced happiness over his presence in Egypt in the current phase which witnessed a big leap in the development and construction process, adding that his country is keen on consolidating ties with Egypt in all fields.
