Published on : 2024-09-11

Petrojet, led by Chairman Waleed Lotfy, has signed a $100 million contract with JSC Atomstroyexport, a subsidiary of Russia’s Rosatom, for coastal protection works at the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant. The signing ceremony, attended by Amged El-Wakeel, Chairman of Egypt’s Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA), and Samy Soliman, Chairman of the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA), marks a significant milestone in the project.

El-Wakeel confirmed that the agreement includes a local participation rate of at least 20% for the first unit and 35% for the fourth unit. Lotfy highlighted that the project entails marine shore protection works spanning 4.2 kilometers, including earthworks of about 2 million cubic meters, the supply and installation of over 800,000 cubic meters of rocks, and the construction of more than 91,000 concrete breakwaters.

Kononenko praised Petrojet's capabilities, noting that the company’s expertise and resources are crucial for the successful execution of this key phase in the Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant’s development.
