According to a press release from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Egypt exported fuel and mineral oils worth $107 million to Jordan in 2023. During the same period, Egypt imported fertilizers valued at $105.6 million from Jordan.
The press release also highlighted the overall trade relationship between the two countries. In 2023, the total value of Egyptian exports to Jordan reached $658 million. This figure represents a decrease compared to 2022, when Egyptian exports to Jordan were valued at $732 million.
On the import side, Egypt purchased goods totaling $206 million from Jordan in 2023, a decline from the $259 million recorded in 2022. The decline in both exports and imports reflects shifts in trade dynamics and market conditions between the two nations over the past year.
CAPMAS emphasized the importance of these trade exchanges in strengthening economic ties between Egypt and Jordan. The trade in specific goods such as fuel, mineral oils, and fertilizers illustrates the complementary nature of the economic relationship.
These trade figures underscore the ongoing economic collaboration and the mutual benefits that both countries derive from such exchanges. The Egyptian government continues to support initiatives and policies aimed at boosting trade and investment flows with Jordan, aiming to foster a robust economic partnership that benefits both nations.
