Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a meeting to review efforts to localize the electronic chip and semiconductor industry by utilizing Egypt's rich mineral resources. Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla was also present.

Madbouly emphasized the importance of maximizing the added value of Egypt's mineral wealth. This initiative aligns with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to establish industries based on these resources, such as electronic chip and semiconductor manufacturing, to support the Egyptian economy and achieve sustainable development goals, thereby enhancing global competitiveness in this field.

Madbouly highlighted ongoing integrated studies aimed at maximizing the use of Egypt's white and black sand ores and enhancing manufacturing capabilities to localize the electronic chip and semiconductor industries. The meeting approved starting tender procedures to select a global consultant. Additionally, the Ministries of Finance and Planning and Economic Development were tasked with making the necessary financial allocations in the general budget for the next fiscal year.
