Mohamed Abdel Aziz Appointed as GASREG Chairman

Published on : 2024-05-13

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has issued a decree appointing Mohamed Abdel Aziz as Chairman of Egypt’s Gas Regulatory Authority (GASREG), with the endorsement of Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla. Abdel Aziz succeeds Karem Mahmoud, whose term as GASREG head ended in February 2024.

Abdel Aziz's nomination was based on his impeccable track record of achievements and extensive experience, making him highly qualified for this position.

Throughout his career at Enppi Petroleum, Abdel Aziz steadily progressed from a project engineer to the position of Assistant to the President for Projects in 2017. He later served as President of Gas Coal, where he led major projects, including the New Administrative Capital. His success in this role led to his appointment as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum for Projects. He later returned to Enppi as President, completing a successful journey within the company.
