ElMolla: Extensive drilling program to secure Egypt’s needs of petroleum products

Published on : 2023-06-26

Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Tareq el Molla said that the petroleum sector is currently implementing an extensive drilling program, in cooperation with foreign companies operating in Egypt, to secure the country's needs of petroleum products and natural gas, and export the surplus.

El-Molla stressed that these efforts are being made to open broad horizons for all types of companies operating in complementary and supportive activities for research and exploration, such as supply equipment companies and others. This in particular, as the Eastern Mediterranean region has become a model of integration and interdependence between neighboring countries in the field of natural gas under the umbrella of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum. This contributes to facilitating the work of companies and allowing them to exploit the potential of the infrastructure available in the region.

On the other hand, the minister thanked Halliburton Company for its keenness to contribute to training programs for human cadres in the petroleum sector.
