Egypt, Czech Republic discuss cooperation in green energy, mining fields

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tareq el Molla has discussed with Czech Ambassador in Cairo Ivan Jukl opportunities for cooperation between Egypt and the Czech Republic in several fields, foremost of which are mining, green hydrogen technology, sustainable energies, in addition to the training of human cadres.

The two sides also probed preparations for signing an Egyptian-Czech memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the coming period.

In statements on Friday 02/06/2023, Molla stressed the importance of swiftly preparing for the MoU's signing, noting that it shall include cooperation in the fields of energy, mining, training, and benefiting from the expertise of Czech companies, universities and institutes in honing the skills of Egyptian cadres.

Meanwhile, the Czech ambassador asserted that his country seeks to sign the MoU with Egypt, noting in this regard that talks started in late 2021 to draft an MoU between both countries for cooperation in many economic fields, including mining.
