Egypt’s petroleum sector adopts new social responsibility strategy

The petroleum sector is adopting a new strategy for social responsibility aiming to raise standards of living in society through sustainable development projects, announced Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El-Molla on Monday.

The axes of the new strategy entail education, training, economic development, health, gender equality, and environmental protection projects, as well as participation in presidential initiatives such as “Decent Life,” El-Molla continued.

A higher committee for social responsibility, to be led by the minister of petroleum, will oversee the implementation of the strategy, while task forces will monitor and execute the plans and projects.

The minister praised the cooperation and partnership of local and foreign petroleum companies in implementing vital community projects that impact citizens.
