Kuwait Energy Egypt signs MOU with the MOP at EGYPS 2023 to execute Capacity Building Program

On the sidelines of the Egypt International Petroleum Conference and Exhibition (EGYPS 2023)memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Kuwait Energy Egypt and the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to provide capacity buildings for operation safety and assets integration teams. The agreement was signed by the Ministry’s undersecretary of the Technical office, Alaa Hagar with the President of Kuwait Energy Egypt, Kamel El Sawi, in the presence of H.E. Tarek Al Molla, Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources attendance and the CEO of Kuwait Energy, Song Yu.



The MOU forms part of Kuwait Energy Egypt’s sustainability and development strategy in Egypt, which has a strong focus on capacity building in energy efficiency and transition, also it supports the sector’s modernization program which is designed by H.E. Tarek Al Molla, Minister of Petroleum & Mineral Resources to integrate the transformative program for Egypt's oil and gas sector.

Kamel Al Sawi explained “It is with great honor and pleasure to continue the strategic partnership with the Ministry of petroleum through this key development program in the third edition as the Egyptian petroleum sector is a pioneer in adopting the capacity building initiatives which aims to develop the sector”.



This program aims to enhance the technical and executivecompetence of workforce in the middle management at production sites after passing technical and conductingassessments in accordance with the latest international practices to reach the best elements capable of assuming the responsibility of managing operations safety.

Kuwait Energy Egypt and the Ministry of petroleum haveshared vision continuous effort to ensure equipping thesector’s cadres with the necessary capabilities. This came as a continuation of the successful modernization capacity building program of Emerging Leaders that was implemented back in 2019.
