Petrojet, Huawei sign MoU to collaborate on ICT solutions, digital transformation

Huawei Technologies, a company specialized in providing ICT solutions, signed on Tuesday a cooperation agreement with Petrojet for petroleum projects and technical consultancy, to achieve digital transformation in line with the strategic vision of the sector.

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2021,

The cooperation agreement between Huawei Technologies and Petrojet aims to maximize the industrial value of the projects undertaken by Petrojet, as one of the companies in the Egyptian petroleum sector, by using the information and communication technology solutions provided by Huawei at all stages of the petroleum projects.

In this context, Vincent Sun, CEO of Huawei Egypt, said: “Huawei’s mission in the oil and gas industry in Egypt is to contribute to enabling the digitization of operational technology and related information technology, with the aim of maximizing industrial value, raising operational efficiency and reducing wasted resources during operations and production. , using various smart solutions in the areas of the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and cloud computing, which contribute to accelerating the process of digital transformation of the sector.”

Felix Xu, CEO of Huawei Egypt Enterprise Business Group, said: “We are pleased with the cooperation agreement with Petrojet as one of the largest players in the oil and gas field in Egypt, as we look forward to working side by side to use the latest systems and ICT solutions in the projects carried out by the company, with the aim of accelerating the digitization process in the oil and gas sector in Egypt, because of their positive effects on increasing productivity, which contributes to achieving digital transformation of this vital sector in light of the state’s strategy Egypt Vision 2030.”

For his part, Walid Lotfy, President of Petrojet, said: “This cooperation agreement is of great importance, as Petrojet, as the executive arm of the Egyptian petroleum sector, seeks to cooperate with Huawei as one of the largest specialized companies that aims to participate in providing the latest technologies and smart solutions and achieve the digital transformation of the Egyptian petroleum sector, which contributes to achieving the maximum possible benefit to meet local and global needs with the required quality and efficiency, while continuing to improve the services provided by the company to its customers, within the framework of the Ministry of Petroleum’s strategy to digitize the oil and gas sector, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.”
