Egypt Signs 4 MOUs at MOC 2024 to Enhance Carbon Capture, Natural Gas Cooperation, and Leadership Development

On the sidelines of the Mediterranean offshore Conference (MOC), currently held in Alexandria, Eng. Karim Badawi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, witnessed the signing of 4 memoranda of understanding MOUs and cooperation agreements between the Petroleum Sector and international partners including a cooperation agreement between (Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) and the Greek company DESFA aiming at studying carbon capture and storage technologies, a memorandum of understanding between the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO) and the Greek company DESFA, aiming at enhancing cooperation in the field of natural gas and hydrogen transportation, carbon capture and transferring, sustainable energy and its re-storage between Egypt and Greece.

A memorandum of understanding between GASCO and the American Bakerrisk, aiming at enhancing cooperation between the two companies in the fields of operational safety, energy efficiency and decarbonization, as well as a memorandum of understanding between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation EGPC and Shell aiming at training and develop leaders development in the field of health, safety and environment in the companies affiliated in cooperation with Shell through Shell Egypt.
