Misr Petroleum: 8.65 Million Tons in Sales and New Digital Initiatives

Engineer Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, announced a strategic push to expedite the implementation of innovative digital transformation initiatives aimed at optimizing the fuel trading system in the local market. Key projects include the Automated Measurement System for Warehouses (RTG) and a comprehensive CCTV Monitoring System to meticulously track the movement of petroleum products. The primary objective is to preemptively prevent any potential leaks, given the critical role petroleum products play as the backbone of the market, development strategies, and daily life.

These remarks were delivered by Minister Badawi during the general assembly convened to ratify the operational results of Egypt Petroleum Company for the fiscal year 2023/2024, attended by Engineer Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development. Badawi underscored that the petroleum sector is committed to modernizing its operations and enhancing the necessary tools to attract investments and maximize both economic and service returns. He praised the pivotal role played by Egypt Petroleum Company in serving the Egyptian market through the ongoing development of fueling stations for vehicles, aircraft, and ships, as well as the provision of natural gas services and other exceptional offerings at vehicle fueling and service stations.


Expanding Warehouse Capacities and New Stations While Enhancing Natural Gas Services

Engineer Mohamed Magdy, Chairman of Egypt Petroleum Company, reported that the company has achieved total sales of 8.65 million tons, attributed to the optimal utilization of its resources. The company has also embarked on a project to enhance the efficiency and capacity of all its warehouses while working to expand their number. To date, 61 service and fueling stations have been upgraded, and the company has established 11 new stations. Furthermore, Egypt Petroleum has expanded its natural gas vehicle fueling services, reaching a total of 194 stations, with 64 additional stations nearing completion in collaboration with Gas Tech.

Currently, the company oversees 20 fueling stations for trains, 14 for aircraft, and 3 for ships, in addition to managing 1,560 fueling and service stations for vehicles.


Commitment to Green and Sustainable Initiatives

In alignment with the presidential initiative under the slogan "Prepare for Green," the company has launched several projects aimed at promoting sustainability. These initiatives include the operation of fueling stations powered by solar energy, the introduction of electric vehicle charging services, and the conversion of transportation units to run on natural gas. Additionally, the company continues to expand its capabilities in the storage and marketing of low-sulfur diesel and mazut, alongside the implementation of a comprehensive sustainability strategy and the enhancement of energy efficiency.

Egypt Petroleum is unwavering in its commitment to adhering to all occupational health, safety, and environmental protection standards. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to raise awareness regarding energy conservation practices and the adoption of energy-efficient equipment.


Attendance of Senior Officials from the Petroleum Sector

The general assembly meeting was attended by numerous senior officials from the petroleum sector, including Engineer Salah El-Din Abdel Karim, CEO of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, alongside many of his deputies, as well as prominent leaders from sector companies such as EGAS, the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company, and the Ministry of Petroleum.
