The Egyptian Petroleum Research Institute (EPRI) has signed a cooperation protocol agreement with the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA).

The cooperation protocol aims to integrate scientific efforts, support petroleum applications projects, and use space experiences in petroleum research.

EPRI’s Director, Dr Yasser Mustafa, and EgSA’s Vice President, Dr Mohamed Khalil Iraqi, signed the cooperation protocol. EgSA’s CEO, Dr Mohamed Al-Qusi, and some research departments’ heads at EPRI also witnessed the signing.

The cooperation protocol signing is in line with implementing the directives the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr Khaled Abdel Ghafar, gave. He emphasized the importance of cooperation between integrated research institutes and various state institutions.

The protocol includes several areas of cooperation, including research and applied projects related to areas serving both parties, using the practical and technical capabilities of both parties, training sessions, workshops and seminars in the same areas of common interest, cooperation on all research stages, from concept development, design preparation to implementation and practical application.

This cooperation protocol with EPRI joins the slew of agreements EgSA has been signing. This month alone, the Egyptian space agency has signed agreements with the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport and Suez Canal University.

There was an inspection tour of the building of assembly and testing of satellites, satellite load lab, geometric model lab, and thermal chamber on the margins of signing the cooperation protocol.
